Qal Perfect Job 26:12 בְּכֹחוֺ רָגַע הַיָם; Participle construct (Ges^{65d. 116 g. x}), Jer 31:35 = Isa 51:15 רֹגַע הַיָם וַיֶהֱמוּ גַלָּיו.

Hiph`il denominative from רֶגַע make a twinkling, only 1 singular Imperfect cohortative וְעַד אִרְגִּ֫יעָה לְשׁוֺן שָׁ֑קֶר and while I would twinkle (= only for a moment: compare Job 20:5) is the false tongue opposed to תִּכּוֺן לָעַד, Prov 12:19 (compare De); and כִּי אִרְגִּ֫יעָה. אֲרִיעֶנּוּ מֵעָלֶיתָ I will twinkle and (= I will in a moment, Ges^{«GKC:120g»§ 120g}; compare Hi ) chase them away from it, Jer 49:19 = Jer 50:44. II. רָגַע verb be at rest, repose (probably = Arabic [untranscribed source text 4968] return, properly return to rest, after wanderings, etc.); —

Niph`al Imperative 2 feminine singular Jer 47:6 (of sword) be gathered into thy scabbard, הֵרָֽגְעִי וָדֹ֫מִּי repose, and be still.

Hiph`il

a. transitive give rest to; — Infinitive construct Jer 31:2 הָלוֺךְ לְהַרְגִּיעוֺ I will go to give him (Israel) rest , Jer 50:34 לְמַעַן הִרְגִּיעַ אתהֿאדץ (on ׳ הִ, see Ges^{«GKC:53l»§ 53l} Dr^{Deut 7:24}; read probably ׳ הַ); Isa 51:4 ומשׁפטי לאור עמים אַרְגִּיעַ usually I will cause my judgment (religion) to repose as, etc. (i.e. I will establish it; compare שִׂים Isa 42:4); but metaphor strange: hence Bachm Che Marti (joining to Isa 42:5) צִדְקִי (< אֲקָרֵב Isa 46:13) אַרְגִּיעַ אַקְרִיב in a moment (I. רָגַע Hiph`il) will I bring near, etc., Du הִרְגִּיעַ קָרֵב, Oort Ry Kit בְּרֶנַע קָרֵב (compare ᵐ5 ἐγγίζει ταχύ).

b. intransitive rest, repose, Deut 28:65 ובגוים ההם לא תַרְגִּיעַ, Isa 34:14 שָׁם הִרְגִּ֫יעָה לִילִית. So Eccl 36:31 .

III. רָגַע verb harden (Ethiopic [untranscribed source text 4969] coagulate, congeal: possibly a special development of √ [untranscribed source text 4970] see II. ׳ ר); — Job 7:5 רָגַע עוֺרִי וַיִמָּאֵס my skin hardens, and (then) runs again (II. מָאַס), of the ulcers in elephantiasis.
