φρόνιμος, φρόνιμον (φρονέω);
a. intelligent, wise (so A. V. uniformly): 1Co 10:15; opposed to μωρός, 1Co 4:10; opposed to Ἄφρον, 2Co 11:19; φρόνιμος παῥ ἑαυτῷ, one who deems himself wise (A. V. wise in one’s own conceits), Rom 11:25; Rom 12:16, (Pro 3:7).
b. prudent, i. e. mindful of one’s interests: Mat 10:16; Mat 24:45; Luk 12:42; opposed to μωρός, Mat 7:24 (cf. ); f comparitive φρονιμώτερος, Luk 16:8. (From Sophocles, Xenophon, Plato down; the Sept. for ðÈáåï, çÈëÈí, îÅáÄéï.) (Synonym: see σοφός, at the end.)
