ἀντιλέγω; (imperfect ἀντέλεγον); to speak against, gainsay, contradict; absolutely: Act 13:45 (L Tr WH omit); Act 28:19; Tit 1:9. τίνι, Act 13:45. followed by μή and the accusative with an infinitive: Luk 20:27 (L marginal reading Tr WH λέγοντες) (as in Greek writings; see Passow (or Liddell and Scott), under the word; (Winers Grammar, § 65, 2b; Buttmann, 355 (305))). "to oppose oneself to one, decline to obey him, declare oneself against him, refuse to have anything to do with him" (cf.
