ἐπιδείκνυμι; 1 aorist ἐπέδειξα; (present middle ἐπιδεικνυμαι); to exhibit, show (as though for exposition or examination (Schmidt, chapter 127, 5); from Pindar, Herodotus down.);
a. to bring forth to view: τί, Mat 22:19; and Luk 20:24 Rec.; τί τίνι, Luk 24:40 R G; ἑαυτόν τίνι, Luk 17:14; to show i. e. bid to look at, τί τίνι, Mat 24:1; to show i. e. furnish to be looked at, produce what may be looked at: σημεῖον, Mat 16:1; Middle with the accusative of the thing, to display something belonging to oneself: χιτῶνας, the tunics as their own, Act 9:39 (see Meyer).
b. to prove, demonstrate, set forth to be known and acknowledged: Heb 6:17; followed by the accusative and the infinitive Act 18:28.
