ἐπιβαρέω, ἐπιβαρῶ; 1 aorist infinitive ἐπιβαρῆσαί; to put a burden upon, to load (cf. ἐπί, D. 3); tropically, to be burdensome; so in the N. T.: τινα, 1Th 2:9; 2Th 3:8; absolutely, ἵνα μή ἐπιβαρῶ ’that I press not too heavily’ i. e. lest I give pain by too severe language, 2Co 2:5. (Dionysius Halicarnassus, Appian.)
