ἐξώτερος, ἐξωτέρᾳ, ἐξώτερον (a comparative from ἔξω, cf. ἐσώτερος, ἀνώτερος, κατώτερος), outer: τό σκότος τό ἐξώτερον, the darkness outside the limits of the lighted palace (to which the Messiah’s kingdom is here likened), Mat 8:12; Mat 22:13; Mat 25:30. ((the Sept.; Strabo, others).)
