ἔνδοξος, ἔνδοξον (δόξα), held in good or in great esteem, of high repute;
a. illustrious, honorable, esteemed (Xenophon, Plato, and following): 1Co 4:10 (thus in the Sept. for ðÄëÀáÈÌã, 1Sa 9:6; 1Sa 22:14; Isa 23:8, etc.; Sir 11:6 Sir 44:1, etc.).
b. notable, glorious: τά ἔνδοξα, wonderful deeds (A. V. glorious things), Luk 13:17; (for ðÄôÀìÈàåú, Exo 34:10).
c. splendid: of clothing (A. V. gorgeous), Luk 7:25; figuratively equivalent to free from sin, Eph 5:27.
