אֵפוֺ (Job 17:15; Job 19:6; Job 19:23; Job 24:25), elsewhere אֵפוֺא (compare רִבּוֺ and רִבּוֺא ), particle [enclitic] then (probably from פּוֺ, a particle with a demonstrative force, compare פּוֺ, פֹּה here, with א prefixed. In the Targs. פּוֺן is used somewhat similarly, e.g. Gen 26:10; Num 11:29; Isa 1:9; Isa 48:18; Isa 48:19), — used

1. in connection with interrogatory pronouns or adverbs (like ἄρα, ποτε tandem): מִי אֵפוֺא Gen 27:3 who, then, . . . ? Gen 27:37 וּלְכָה אֵפוֺא מָה אֶעֱשֶׂה and for thee, then, what shall I do, my son ? Exod 33:16 וּבַמֶּה יִוָּדַע אֵפוֺא and wherein shall it be known, then…? אַיה אֵפוֺא where, then ? Judg 9:38; Isa 19:12; Job 17:15; Hos 13:10 אֱהִי מַלְכְךָ אֵפוֺא Isa 22:1 מַהלָּֿח אֵפוֺא what is there to thee, pray. . .?
