1. especially in phrases like ׳ לָכֶם יִהְיֶה לְאָ Gen 1:29; Gen 6:21; Gen 9:3; Lev 11:39 so Lev 25:6 וְהָיְתָה שַׁבַּת הָאָרֶץ לָכֶם לְאָבְלָה compare ׳ נָתַן לְא Gen 1:30; Exod 16:15.
2. devouring, by wild beasts, only figurative of ravaged people Ezek 29:5; Ezek 34:5; Ezek 34:8; Ezek 34:10 ; Ezek 39:4 , compare Ezek 35:12.
