Hithpa`el Infinitive construct כְּהִתְכַּנֵּסוְהַמַּסֵּכָה צָרָה Isa 28:20 and the covering is (too) narrow when one gathers oneself together (|| מֵהִשְׂתָּרֵעַקָצַר הַמַּצָּע), i.e. the bed is too short to stretch oneself at full length, and when one (perforce) draws up the feet, the covering becomes too narrow.
