Thayer's Greek Lexicon
ἀφεδρών, ἀφεδρωνος, ὁ, apparently a word of Macedonian origin, which Suidas calls ’barbarous’; the place into which the alvine discharges are voided; a privy, sink; found only in Mat 15:17; Mar 7:19. It appears to be derived not from ἀφ’ ἑδρων,a podicibus, but from ἄφεδρος, the same Macedon. word which in Lev 12:5; Lev 15:19 ff answers to the Hebrew ðÄãÈÌäsordes menstruorum. Cf.
