χεῖλος, χείλους, τό, genitive plural in the uncontracted form χειλέων (Heb 13:15; see ὄρος) (χέω equivalent to ΧΑΩ, χαίνω), from Homer down, the Sept. for ùÈÒôÈä, a lip;
a. in the N. T. of the speaking mouth (cf. Winer’s Grammar, 32): Mat 15:8; Mark vil. 6; Rom 3:13; 1Co 14:21; Heb 13:15 (on which see καρπός, 2 c.); 1Pe 3:10.
