a. not to dread or shun through fear: followed by an infinitive, Mat 22:46; Mar 12:34; Luk 20:40; Joh 21:12 (Winer’s Grammar, § 65, 7b.); Act 5:13; Act 7:32; Rom 15:18; 2Co 10:12; Php 1:14; Jud 1:9; τολμήσας εἰσῆλθεν, took courage and went in, Mar 15:43 (Herodian, 8, 5, 22; Plutarch, vit.
