Vanicek, p. 164; especially Curtius, index under the word)); from Homer down; the Sept. chiefly for ÷ÈãÇã; to bow the head, bend forward, stoop down: Mar 1:7; with κάτω added (Aristophanes vesp. 279), Joh 8:6; Joh 8:8.
