II. אֵיתָן proper name, masculine a wise man 1Kgs 5:11 (where called הָאֶזְרָחִי) named with הֵימָן, כַּלְכֹּל, דַּרְדַּע; compare 1Chr 2:6 (where these 4 with זִמְרִי are בְּנֵי זֶרַח ); also 1Chr 2:8 ; 1Chr 6:27 called בֶּןקִֿישִׁי 1Chr 6:29 = בֶּןקֿוּשָׁיָ֫הוּ 1Chr 15:17 where, and 1Chr 15:19, named as Levitical singer with הֵימָן and אָסָף (q. v.; יְדוּתוּן for אֵיתָן in this group 1Chr 25:1; 1Chr 25:6; 2Chr 5:12; 2Chr 35:15, see ידותון ); לְאֵיתָן הָאֶזְרָחִי Ps 89:1 (title).
