Γαλλίων, Γαλλίωνος, ὁ, Gallio, proconsul of Achaia, elder brother of L. Annaeus Seneca the philosopher. His original name was Marcus Annaeus Novatus, but after his adoption into the family of Junius Gallio the rhetorician, he was called Gallio: Act 18:12; Act 18:14; Act 18:17. (Cf. B. D. American edition; Farrar, St. Paul, i. 566f.)
