Verses 8–14 shift from request to theological reflection. These lines are not detached proverbs but an explanation of why the psalmist can pray as he does: the Lord is good and upright, therefore he teaches sinners; he guides the humble; he is faithful to those who keep his covenant. The statement in v. 13 about descendants inheriting the land should be read as covenant blessing language within Israel’s order of life, not as a universal promise severed from its Mosaic setting.
