"simple_summary": "Ruth goes out to gather grain so she and Naomi can live. By God’s hidden care, she ends up in Boaz’s field. Boaz protects her, provides for her, and shows covenant kindness. Naomi begins to see hope again because Boaz is a close relative who may help restore the family.",
"simple_explanation": "Ruth asks permission to glean in the fields. She works hard and, in the Lord’s providence, comes to the field of Boaz, a wealthy man from Naomi’s family line. Boaz greets his workers with blessing, notices Ruth, and learns that she is the Moabite woman who came with Naomi. He tells her to stay in his field, to stay near his workers, and to drink from the water his servants draw. This protects Ruth and gives her a safe place to work.\n\nRuth is humble and surprised by his kindness. Boaz explains that he has heard of her faithfulness to Naomi and asks the Lord to reward her. He says she has come to seek refuge under the God of Israel. At mealtime he feeds her, and she saves some food for Naomi. Boaz also tells his workers to leave extra grain for Ruth to gather. By the end of the day she has far more barley than she could have gathered on her own.\n\nWhen Ruth returns home, Naomi sees the amount of grain and asks where she worked. When she hears the man’s name is Boaz, she blesses him and recognizes that he is a close relative, one who may act for their good. Ruth keeps working through the barley and wheat harvests while staying with Naomi. The chapter moves the family from emptiness toward hope.",

"gods_plan_connection": "This chapter shows God quietly preserving Naomi’s family after loss and famine. He uses Ruth’s labor and Boaz’s kindness to begin restoring what was empty. In the larger Bible story, this protection of Elimelech’s line moves the promise forward toward David; any later connection to Christ is a secondary canonical link rather than the chapter’s main emphasis.",
"simple_application": "Trust God’s care even when it seems hidden. Work faithfully. Welcome and protect people who are weak, poor, or new among you. Be generous in practical ways. Look for the Lord’s kindness in ordinary provision.",
