"simple_summary": "Abraham again says Sarah is his sister, and Abimelech takes her. God warns Abimelech in a dream and keeps him from sinning. Abraham is rebuked, Sarah is restored, and Abraham prays so Abimelech’s household is healed.",
"simple_explanation": "Abraham moved to Gerar for a time. There he said that Sarah was his sister. Abimelech took Sarah, but God warned him in a dream that Sarah was another man’s wife. God said He had kept Abimelech from sinning, and He commanded him to give Sarah back. God also said that Abraham was a prophet and would pray for Abimelech, so Abimelech would live.\n\nIn the morning, Abimelech confronted Abraham. He asked why Abraham had done this and brought guilt on his kingdom. Abraham said he feared the people there did not fear God, so they would kill him because of Sarah. He also explained that Sarah was his half-sister, and that he had asked her to use that description wherever they went.\n\nAbimelech gave Sarah back, along with sheep, cattle, and servants. He also gave Abraham freedom to live wherever he pleased and gave Sarah silver as public vindication. Then Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech’s household so they could have children. The Lord had caused infertility because Sarah had been taken. This passage shows God’s power to protect Sarah, restrain sin, judge wrongdoing, and keep His promise.",
