"simple_summary": "God’s restored temple must be kept holy. The east gate stays shut because the Lord has entered it. Unfaithful service brings loss of privilege, but faithful priests are allowed to draw near and serve in God’s presence.",
"simple_explanation": "Ezekiel sees the temple after the Lord’s glory has filled it. God tells him to pay close attention, because access to the sanctuary is not a human matter. It must follow God’s order.\n\nThe east gate stays shut because the Lord, the God of Israel, entered by it. Even the prince does not use it as an ordinary entrance. He may only have a limited place there for a sacrificial meal.\n\nGod rebukes Israel for defiling his house by allowing those who were unfit for holy service to enter and serve there. The Lord says his sanctuary must be kept clean and set apart.\n\nThe Levites who turned after idols are not removed from all service, but they are lowered in rank. They may guard the gates and do other temple work, but they may not come near the holy things as priests. Their sin has consequences.\n\nThe sons of Zadok are honored because they stayed faithful when others went astray. They may come near the Lord, offer sacrifices, and serve at his table. Faithfulness matters in God’s house.\n\nThe rest of the chapter gives rules for the priests. They must wear proper garments, avoid impurity, keep themselves distinct, teach the people the difference between holy and common, and judge according to God’s law. They must not treat their office lightly.\n\nThe priests do not receive land like the other tribes. The Lord himself is their inheritance. He provides for them through the offerings and firstfruits of the people.",

"gods_plan_connection": "In Ezekiel’s restored temple, God shows that his presence must be approached in holiness. The shut gate, the ordered priesthood, and the limited role of the prince all point to God’s careful provision for worship after judgment. The chapter prepares for the restored life of God’s people under his holy rule, and it fits the wider Bible’s call for a faithful mediator and holy service.",
"simple_application": "This passage warns us not to treat God as ordinary. Worship should be reverent, obedient, and shaped by his truth. Leaders in God’s house must be faithful and must teach what is clean and unclean, right and wrong. The chapter also reminds us that God himself is the greatest reward of faithful service.",
