"simple_summary": "In a vision, the Lord takes Ezekiel to Jerusalem and shows him idolatry inside the temple. Leaders, women, and priests are all involved. God sees these hidden sins and says they will bring severe judgment.",
"simple_explanation": "Ezekiel is sitting with the elders when the Lord seizes him in a vision and takes him to Jerusalem. There he sees the temple filled with false worship.\n\nFirst he sees an idol at the temple gate. Then he is shown a hidden room where the elders are worshiping carved images and saying that the Lord does not see them. After that he sees women mourning for Tammuz, a false god. Finally, he sees men in the inner court turning their backs on the temple and worshiping the sun.\n\nThe passage shows that the people of Judah had not only sinned in private. They had corrupted the house of the Lord itself. Their worship was false, and their lives were marked by violence. God says this rebellion is serious and that his judgment will come in fury.\n\nThis chapter teaches that the Lord sees hidden sin. Sacred places, religious leaders, and outward worship do not hide a people from God. When people turn from him to idols, they place themselves under judgment.",

"gods_plan_connection": "This vision belongs to the time when Judah was under the Mosaic covenant. The temple was meant to be the place where God’s holy presence dwelt among his people. Because the people filled it with idols and rebellion, judgment was coming. The chapter also prepares for the later loss of the temple glory and the need for cleansing and restoration.",
"simple_application": "Do not assume that religious activity hides sin. God sees the heart, the worship, and the secret places of life. This passage calls readers to turn from idols, repent of hidden evil, and honor the Lord with true obedience.",
